Class 36 Caledon line

Post by Dylan Knott »

Saw two class 36 (Bo-Bo) locos hauling a 16 coach train this morning. Heading through Somerset West from Bellville in the direction of Elgin. First time I have ever seen class 36's running on this section though. Consist was FZ and FZ1 wagons.

Anyone know when the class 36's started running here?

My reply is a few years late. Only found out about this forum recently. Interesting question.
I live next to this line, between S/West and Sir Lowry's. Have never seen anything except 35-000 and 35-400s on it.

Warren, welcome to the FOTR Forum. A few years late is better than never! Hope to hear more from you, and maybe see some photos of the line that you live near?

Thanks for the welcome John!
Unfortunately there are two fences between me and the line, not good for photography. The line run about 10m from my bedroom window, my computer is setup next to the window :D
I will upload a few pics later once I find my way around.
