Re: Heidelberg Transport Museum

Hello all

I have kept 2 postcards since the mid/late 70's of the Heidelberg Train Museum as it then was - but have only just published them on my Flickr photostream, and in turn the Flickr Clerestory Group.

Given that reports seem to indicate that the site is in some decay, I thought it appropriate to publish a "how it was", in the hope there might be some rail fans in Gauteng who would lend a hand to restoration. The comments to the above photos include various links and especially Derek Walkers blog of April 2014, which seems to be the latest info available.

There are other FOTR forum discussions as well on this subject:

http://www.friendsoftherail.com/phpBB2/ ... erg#p28361 ('reopening in 2012', with appeal for help?)

This stock is too valuable to posterity to lose. Is there any practical help out there?

Bit far for me I'm afraid the UK is a further than Johannesburg!
