36-214 & 36219
Two pairs of class 36 diesel resting after a hard days shunting near pier 1 in Durban harbour
Re: 36-214 & 36219
How many Class 36s are there? I assume their main areas of operation are Western Cape And KZN?

No Jez, they are all over. JHB Pretoria. I have seen them down as far as Klerksdorp.

Thanks Stefan - I have never seen one in the Kimberley area, and all photographs I have seen seem to be from the WC/KZN areas.

In CT 90% of freight is hauled by them. On the odd occaision you will see 35's and once in a blue moon you will see a 33 roaming around here. The Electrics are only used for freight for Main Line activity. Dylan would have more knowledge on this topic.
