Tom, this is how N relates to HO (N being the small one) Not too sure about how it relates to O gauge tho.

I'm under the impression O and HO are more or the less the same thing

Marc, you're thinking of OO and HO. Both use the same gauge track (is it 16 mm, or 16.5?), but I believe OO is 4 mm = 1 foot while HO is 3.5 mm = 1 foot. O is much bigger, I think with 32 mm gauge track.

In linear measurements you can say OO/HO is twice the size of N, and O is twice the size of OO/HO.
