On the 16th July a collision took place between a lorry and the funicular car of the Stanserhornbahn. When the car leaves the lower station it proceeds along a long straight track through open countryside, quite unlike the usual scenery associated with funicular railways. During this period of the journey the railway crosses the road no less than four times, and it was on one of the upper level crossing points that the accident took place. The car was removed for repair and the railway was closed. A replacement bus service by the Post bus system replaced the funiculars.

On August 1st the car was refitted to the hauling cable and the service to the mountain cable car station at Kalti [714 m.a.s.l. ] restarted.
