Re: SAR 15 F
Loco was active at Pietersburg and Capital Park until 1983. I seem to remember her rusting away at the Park in 1984/5 and was scrapped soon after, I think.
I may have some old pics, am sure Trainman will.

I am sure I have, as she ran on a steam special double headed to Rustenburg in the 1980's and was named LINDIE. She was based at Capital Park after Pietersburg.I have photos bit as I have stuff lying all over, it will take time. I also fired her in Pietersburg. She was scrapped at Capital Park. I did once see her number plate in Doug Philips collection.

Hi, I bought a couple of weeks ago from a gentleman in England, one of the brass 2998 cabside plates and the brass 2998 tender plate from this engine. They are really beautiful and the cabside plate is extremely heavy. Would like to have some pictures of this engine if at all possible. Have attached a picture of them . I have my fingers crossed that you can dig up some pictures. Pat Nolan
Cant seem to attach the picture, Its a jpeg and wont copy to my email?

Hi, I've just posted a picture of the cabside plate and tender plate for 15F No. 2998. would anyone have an actual picture of the engine. Also I've just noticed some faint numbers and / or possibly letters cut into the back of the cabside plate. Can you tell me what they might identify or their purpose. thanks Pat

No problem, Pat - I've now moved it to the SAR/SAS/Spoornet/TFR photogallery - here.
