Transformation on 4 September

Post by Chris Janisch »

On Friday 4 September there was considerable activity at Capital Park. We hired a back actor which was put to work loading our coal into the ballast wagons. Along with some labourers we then tackled the disgraceful heaps of old ash, junk and rubbish near the GF boiler. Afew hours of hard slog later, the area was cleared and two piles placed on the northern side of the coalstage for loading and disposal. Some work was also done near the reeds at the back of the site.
One filthy club secretary was later seen leaving the site with his exhausted team slumbering in the back...
Weeding was also in progress while the laboureres trimmed the coalstage. Rovos assisted with 3360 pushing our coal up the ramp, which put on a great show for the workers!
Our cleanup campaign is gathering momentum. Next is the hiring of garden services to slash and remove years of overgrowth in and on the perimeter of our compound.

Oh yes, and all the dead wood under the coalstage was neatly chopped up and packed.
