Loco identication please

Post by david marsden »

I wonder if anyone can help identify the 4-8-0 pilot loco that is shown in http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm23 ... ited-1.jpg. I know that the train loco is 19D no 2749. The train was the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe from Mossel Bay to George on 13th September 2007. The pilot was added to the train at the yards a few km north of Mossel Bay and on the long bank from Groot Brak River my son-in-law and I thought we must have died and gone to heaven!

1007 is neatly preserved in the George Museum. I have posted a photo of this some time ago
