Gautrain construction and steam

Photos of the Gautrain System! Photos should be 800x600 pixels, maximum size 130K. Very good ones will be moved to the Online Gallery, the rest may be pruned away after 14 days to conserve space.

The third bridge on the approach to Pretoria city. FOTR steam charter traverses the current brdge built to replace the original steel NZASM one, whilst in the background, the new Gautrain bridge on the Hatfield link, overlooks the whole scene. One day steam and Gautrain may run side by side!

The same bridge scene as the previous pic but from the trackside as FOTR Tshwane Xplorer heads for Rissik station. This scene is just out of Pretoria station.

My goodness, what an interesting set of photos. Hmm, how rail history moves on. Yet, with all of this, it is still steam that has carried on, bringing so much of original railway to the railway of today.
That actually read quite well. Must become a railway politician sometime!
