hard braking?

Post by allanroy »

heading down towards laingsburg I could not believe how much smoke was coming from all the brakes on the train. The photo does not really capture just how smokey it was.

Did it really smell like break smoke as I remember going through that area, new ballast had just been laid , and the dust from there was blinding.

It was from the braking, very strong burning smell, in fact every time the train slowed down you could smell the brakes my sons complaned about the awful smell.
