There is a series of pictures beginning here of a superbly detailed British-outline model railway on which the owner apparently occasionally runs his US trains. Perhaps he's envisaging an imaginary Transatlantic Tunnel? But it's nice to see a serious modeller having fun!

Look at some of the signs on the buildings, eg "Passing Winds Rest Home - Blow your pension here in comfort" and "HM Ministry of Bubble Blowing"...
