Golf hazard.

Post by M. Hardy-Randall »

Could any golfers please explain what the rules say about this type of hazard. The loco came from the Brienz Rothorn Bahn near Interlaken. I cannot find out why it was put there.

Interesting chimney. Anyone know why it bends backwards, and what if any affect that has on its steaming characteristics?

John,

Under normal running conditions the chimney top, being hinged, is folded forwards.

I had taken some slides of the BRB in the summer of 1971, unfortunately none of these are scanned yet

The chimeny is actually pivoted on a vertical rod and appears to not only rotate, but to come away from the chimney altogether when facing forward.

The locos worked uphill pushing a single coach, or sometimes a single coach and a small 4-wheel wagon if required for stores for the restaurant ant the summit

The purpose of the cowl seems to be to ensure that the smoke went away from the paying customers in the tunnels
