Sudan steam c1984

Photos of motive and rolling stock, stations, signals and anything else train related in the Sudan! Photos should be 800x600 pixels, maximum size 130K. Very good ones will be moved to the Online Gallery, the rest will be pruned away after 14 days to conserve space.

Sudan steam c1984

Ian and I were both living in Sudan in 1984. Sadly neither of us residents managed to take any steam photos, but fortunately a visitor like Colin did!

NB: I think one of two of these photos appear elsewhere on the forum having been found on the internet. I am happy that we are now able to correctly attribute them to Colin.

A bit of good news from Ian, his reputation as a serious railway enthusiast restored (!), and something to look forward to in the future!
Ian wrote:Actually I have a whole load of steam and diesel pictures from 1982-85 and diesel from 2005-7 but all on slides. One of these days (but it won't be while I'm doing this job) I'll try to reformat them for the FOTR Forum.

Sudan is Cape Gauge (3' 6"), same as South Africa.
