Hermanstad: new pointwork

This is the new point at the western end of the site, at the gate next to the cellphone mast. It's an extremely important step forward in our plan to lay storage sidings on the site as quickly as possible so that more rolling stock can be removed from Capital Park. It will also eventually be the main entry point to the loco shed and workshop facilities.

The points have been attended to by Johannes and his team, with John Dadford marking and measuring away. The points have been serviced and although there are still the odd sleeper to be replaced in time, the points are operational.
The weather was foul and the track jacking was difficult due to the soft ground, but end of the day, the points are aligned and soon the next panel will be placed.
Slow but sure progress at Hermanstad.
