I was told that five sets provide the 18 trips per day, but I suspect that the quantity is six.
A couple stable at outstations, but most return to Nairobi empty at night (and for the weekend), and head out in the early hours of the morning. I saw no evidence of the former weekend train to Nanyuki.
The five-figure altitude on the Makadara sign just has to be wrong.
