- Can you believe it! 2850 class 15CA ready to leave the site at Capital Park with her last run before being withdrawn due to tube problems and the demise of steam. The train was to Cullinan and driver Cliff Petzer and Fireman Andre Visser worked the train. Today, 2850 is slowly being brought back to life and is having a number of small tubes replaced and will one day be steaming a "Welcome back" train.

- The wooden train staff for the next section, Sandpits to Swartspruit, must first be obtained before the train may proceed. Driver Cliff Petzer is removing it from its housing, while the 19D 3344 stands ready to head out to Magaliesburg. The line is today in pieces, one here and the others overseas! The locomotive is at George in the Cape after a transfer in the mid 1990s. The wooden train staff working still occurs on the branch from Rayton to Cullinan.

- Viewed from the road bridge near Mears Street station, class 15CA number 2850 heads the 13:05 Saturday train to Cullinan from Pretoria. The new Gautrain route parallels this spot today.

- Double GMAM Garratts haul a ballast train out the "hole" alongside the Koedoespoort railway workshops, from the ballast sidings. The train would then draw in to the Koedoespoort station, the locos run around the load and proceed out to Pretoria station and then the main line to Johannesburg, before taking the turn at Olifantsfontein station and heading off to the new yard at Sentrarand.

- Blasting up the Johannesburg mainline near the Fountains Valley with a ballast train to Sentra Rand, sees this 15F hard at work. The UNISA building in the background is still having additions made to it whilst the ground on the left rear will host the Gautrain in the future! How time flies.
