Drunk's racist rant horrifies train passengers

A RACIST drunk has been caught on camera subjecting passengers on a train to a tirade of abuse and threats.

The man was filmed on yesterday's 21.55 London Bridge to Hayes service shouting "I will f****** kill every c*** here" and ranting about paying for the education of people from other countries.

British Transport Police are asking anyone who witnessed the racial outburst, in which he repeatedly shouted "f****** p*ki", to get in touch.

The offender, who is clearly intoxicated, is thought to have got off the train at either Eden Park or Elmers End.

Seen to be wearing what appears to be a high visibility builder's jacket, the man was filmed by a 29-year-old British-born Kashmiri, who was travelling by herself to her home in West Wickham after a night out with friends.

Her boyfriend Paul Sarahs, 32, said: "I'm really infuriated. My girlfriend is a sweet loving person and she is very shaken up by this.

"It was a prolonged and sustained verbal attack, not just directed at my girlfriend but everyone on the train.

"She was on her phone texting me when it happened, so was able to film it.

"He was on his feet, walking up and down the carriage, throwing his weight around.

"He was being very physically intimidating.

"He was obviously intoxicated, rambling about how he pays for people's education, people who come to this country, everything you could possibly imagine came out of his mouth.

"What was filmed was just a snippet of a prolonged, sustained attack on my girlfriend."

Asked what should happen to the man, Mr Sarahs said: "He should be made to do community service in an ethnic community for the benefit of others. He's obviously an incredibly ignorant man. A bit of education would be best for him."

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “We have been made aware of the video, which has been passed to detectives for further investigation.

“At this stage we urge the person who filmed the video, or anyone who witnessed this incident, to get in touch and help us build up a full picture of what took place.

“We treat all allegations of racism on the rail network very seriously and urge anyone with information about this incident to contact us.”
