steam in China

Does China still have the capability to manufacture steam locomotives or associated spare parts?

I believe they do.
While mainline steam is still on the way out, it has not gone yet. In remoter areas steam will persist for a while it appears.
Spares are still manufactured, and they apparently still have the heavy plant used in manufacture of engines, but this si due to be scrapped.
Above was applicable about the middle of last year.

I read this in an article in Train or Railfan last year. I will see if I can hunt it out. There is quite a lot on the web, but you need to hunt it out using the relevant names to see what is still there - when the mainline steam went interest in Chinese steam waned seriously.
