London Underground will start testing a new breed of driverless Tubes from October onwards.
A leaked document revealed that the testing will take place on the Jubilee line at night without passengers, in just over two months.
If the testing goes well we could see driverless tubes on the Jubilee from 2015 with the Central and Victoria lines to follow.
“This is Boris Johnson’s driverless and de-staffed plan for the future of the Tube and it is a lethal combination of cash-led cuts and ignorance that would leave Londoner’s riding a daily death trap,†said Bob Crow, leader of the RMT union.
