CAF to supply Kolkata metro trains

INDIA: Kolkata Metro Rail Corp has formally awarded CAF a contract to supply 14 six-car trainsets for the future 14·7 km east-west metro line. The contract is worth more than €110m, and includes an option for a further 21 cars.
The air-conditioned trains will have a maximum speed of 90 km/h and a capacity of 2 136 passengers. The stainless steel cars will be 21·5 m long and 3 720 mm wide, designed to be accessible to passengers with disabilities. Power supply will be 750 V DC third rail.
