Epping Choo Choo

Another Steam train regular that died a slow death in Cape Town was the "Epping Choo Choo". Class 24 3655 " City of Cape Town" would do a round trip in Epping through to Mutual station and back. These photos were taken Circa 2003.

I fired her quite regularly on the runs with Spier from Cape Town to Chempet with Ian Pretorius and Andy Faulks efforts, a few years back. Les Labuschaagne was a regular driver. It took a lot of hard work to sort out the loco after its time at Epping. We also ran to Simonstown and Stellenbosch aswell as being used in a film shoot at Sir Lowreys.
