35-062 and partners are busy traversing Houw Hoek , and heading towards Bot Rivier.

Didn't realise it was you with the camera. I was chasing them from Elgin but got delayed at roadworks and then SAPS roadblock at Botriver. Another example here of when no one stops at a level crossing! Freight returned blasting through S/west at 21:15.

Same locos used yesterday. Consist was coal and maize. Must be a conditional working.

Houwhoek is a great trainwatching spot. We stayed there a few years back at Wildekrans farm and enjoyed watching those 4x35 lashups growling through the S-bends.
Perhaps a good venue for a HRASA meeting?

What are the timings like for the Freight ? Certainly great pics and location
Is this Google Maps link the approx location ?

Can you follow the tracks with that gravel road next to the S bends or is that road closed off for public ?

I particularly enjoyed the second shot. To see a train in such dense terrain with no rail infrastruture in sight is really quite interesting!
