Sefan - thanks for the plug!! I hope other members view my channel!! I LOVE the metro pic from 'back in the day' - am I alone in thinking that this was the classiest livery for all SAR/SAS stock? For instance there have been many sightings of the 'dedicated' 18-4xx 'Shosholoza Meyl' Class 18Es on freight, and that's no surprise, as Transnet favours freight over fare-paying passengers.
At least back in the good old days, there was a common user pool, where everything hauled everything unless it was blue & Yellow instead of maroon & yellow. The same was inflicted upon the UK, and 20 years on, we are almost devoid of locomotives.

THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN IN SOUTH AFRICA.
SAR/SAS/SPOORNET/TRANSNET FREIGHT RAIL MUST NOT SPLIT INTO SEPERATE 'BUSINESSES' - SHOSH MEYL LIVERIED LOCOS ARE JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG!!

I don't know if you are aware that Metro, Shos Meyl, the bus services and Intersite (Transnet property) are all under PRASA. Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa. I include their Logo for you. A few of the Metro Motor coaches in Joburg have already been liveried like this
