Boom Defence Vessel built in 1942 for the Royal Navy. Later transferred to the South African Navy. Oil fired Triple Expansion Steam Engine. Retired in 1986 and donated to the Maritime Museum. Used as a Museum Ship until 2006 and now closed to the public. Refurbished cosmetically in 2007. Future looks brighter for this vessel though.
