Co-Co means three powered axles on each of two bogies; Bo-Bo means two powered axles. The capital letter indicates the number of powered axles, while the "o" indicates that they are each powered by an individual electric traction motor (as opposed, say, to being driven by a single motor and linked by connecting rods or some other mechanical linkage). It's known as the UIC classification of locomotive axle arrangements (although I believe the strictest interpretation of UIC would be Co'Co' rather than Co-Co, the ' indicating a bogie rather than a fixed frame).

I dont see them winning any beauty contests for locomotives. but they sure will be impressive in service. John, Thanks for the CoCo BoBo explantion too... it made things a tad less muddy.
Not quite on the rails.

Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. I am sure you have heard that one before. I think they look magnificent.

How will these locos get to Saldanha, through Bellville or is there another way?

I think they can get through Sishen, otherwise the only link is the Malmesbury branch line which turns off at Kraaifontein. This is the route that the rolling stock go through and branch off at Kalbaskraal.

I am not sure of the route they will take, but from what I heard they will be tacken to Sishen or Saldanah on dummy bogies because of the weight. There they will be jacked up and have their proper bogies put on.

That makes sense. I forgot about the weight. What are the about 180ton. Our poor branch line would never cope with that.

I dont know the weight, but it will be one long journey for them, I think they will travel a max of 40kph behind diesels all the way.
