15CA No 2817, Panpoort, 06/11/1974

Post by Steve Appleton »

Posted on behalf of the photgrapher, Dennis Mitchell:
Another couple of shots at Panpoort on 6 November 1974, our last full day in South Africa in 1974. As you can see the weather has gone from a nice sunrise to cr*p. It remained like that on the coalfields but the sun came out late afternoon when we were at R.E.G.M.
This is Class 15CA No. 2817 shouting to the world that she is back on the mainline and shrugging off her nearly 50 years. Sorry the shot isn't better, but the weather was horrid.

Wonderfull! The brick building still remains with a natural spring coming out the ground. The alignment has changed in fact just about everything. Nice one.
