Restructuring

Post by Jerome West »

Look out for the PRASA Rail. No-more Metrorail and Shosholoza Meyl. Coming soon.

Will see what fun this brings. Not much chance of the new rollingstock now. Its been delayed year after year and each time Montana says it will happen and soon. Sure Mr Montana!
What a mess.

Not sure about the new rolling stock but there is a trip to China by PRASA soon and the Chinese have been making strides in coach building. I wonder?

News released to all PRASA staff is that the merger between Shosholoza Meyl and Metrorail into a single rail operation to be known as PRASA Rail, has been approved by the board. So it is all systems go for the 1 April 2010. From what I am reading but not hundred percent sure are the 3 sections in PRASA Rail that are named Metrorail - the Regions, LuxRail - Premier Classe, Blue Train (anticipated) and Mainline Passenger Rail Services. Nothing about the Shosholoza brand other than it will be merged.
