Convert Lima 6E to digital
Has anybody converted a Lima 6E to digital yet? I have a Digitrax digital controller hanging around that I wanted to use on my N gauge set but the loco's are just too small to fit decoders in. Has anybody tried to fit decoders to the Lima motors?
Not quite on the rails.

Re: Convert Lima 6E to digital
I've installed a TCS T1 into a Lima 5E as well as a Lima Suburban. The 5E runs well but unfortunately not as slow as I'd like. The install in the suburban was initially a problem as the loco ran very jerky After replacing the motor the with another locos motor (some American diesel) it also runs pretty smooth.
The installs are simple enough to do and you don't have space issues. I swopped the 12v bulbs for LEDs instead cause they look better.
One of my current projects is creating a sound project for a Lima 5E1 using a Digitrax SDH164D decoder. In this case I've re-motored the loco with a Frateschi chassie because it runs better. The sound project still needs some refinement.
Hope this Helps

I'm not interested in digital but I am interested to hear that you have got N-scale South African locos and coaches. So far I have failed to locate any. Can you give details of where one can find South African N-scale stuff? Thanks!

Sorry, my bad. My comments are related to HO scale as I wasn't aware that there was SAR N scale stuff.
Will pay more attention next time round.
