Sadly, with local elections due to take place in May we fear nothing will be done until then. What exactly is the delay between Tnet and WCape Gov? The previous WCape Gov were also determined to reinstate the service yet nothing materialized!
The vast expense involved with relocating two steam locomotives and five coaches to Knysna would be beyond the means of any volunteer group.
I cannot see this line ever reopening to a steam train.
Best to focus on the George - Mossel Bay service. Failing that redistribute the good locos and coaches elsewhere, then cut the rest for scrap.
