UK: 60019 'Bittern' disguised as 4492 'Dom'n of NZ'

Photos of motive and rolling stock, stations, signals and anything else train related in U.K. & Ireland! Photos should be 800x600 pixels, maximum size 130K. Very good ones will be moved to the Online Gallery, the rest will be pruned away after 14 days to conserve space.

UK: 60019 'Bittern' disguised as 4492 'Dom'n of NZ'

Post by Steve Appleton »

From Ken Livermore, Hon Secretary of North British Loco Preservation Group (NBLPG) sent these pics. NBLPG website is at: http://www.nbloco.net/
I'm sure you will be aware that A4 Pacific No. 60019 "Bittern" is currently running in the UK disguised as LNER No. 4492 "Dominion of New Zealand". There has been a mixed reaction from UK railfans but here are a few photos so you can decide the merits of "Bittern's" new livery for yourselves!

IMG 8197 shows the loco leaving Basingstoke en route to Weymouth this morning (2 August 2011).

Nice to see an A4 running in its original form with side valances, although I think the locomotive looks a bit more businesslike without them.
