Re: Books on Electric or Diesel Locomotives of South Africa
It is 25 years ago, but this is not a great rain smash as all the earlier and most of the "current" models (apart from the last few years are covered.
When I have time I will do a book review and give an idea of the contents!

Re: Books on Electric or Diesel Locomotives of South Africa
I've just ordered it from a used bookseller in UK via AbeBooks. Will be interesting to see it, although I'm having it sent to my nephew's address in UK so it might be a few months before he finds a way of getting it out to Kenya for me.
Incidentally I've always found AbeBooks to be a very good online source of used railway books.

The book will be available sometime in november:
Here from the last mail from JEAN dulez:
Hi David,
I have been again to the printer this week and the pages are at last ready and going to book binding. We should now have book copies within 2 weeks, so will let you know in due course.

John,
Apologies. I just visited this thread for the first time in months, and didn't see that you'de asked a question back in August ( about the author ).
I think that Kevin answered correctly, though.
But I'll check when I get home tonight.

Re: Books on Electric or Diesel Locomotives of South Africa
Just today I received by a circuitous route my copy of Bernard Zurnamer's 1987 book (ordered from a specialist bookseller in UK, sent to my nephew's UK address and finally brought to Kenya by my brother-in-law who has just arrived to visit us for a birdwatching trip). It looks interesting.
Must look out for Jean Dulez's book now.

Re: Books on Electric or Diesel Locomotives of South Africa
I've just been looking online for Jean Dulez's book and I can't find it anywhere. I can't see it on the two links given in previous posts, nor on Amazon, Kalahari or Abe Books. Any ideas, anyone?

I can try at the Aviation Shop for you.
I have'nt really bothered to look for myself as it is a bit pricy if it R 500.00 odd (as indicated above).
Vidrail and the Aviation Shop show it and there is mention by Reefsteamers etc. But everyone seems unable to give a price! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Perhaps someone can say exactly how much it is? Or how much they paid?

Thanks, Kevin. I must be doing something wrong as I looked at both Vidrail and Aviation Shop and couldn't find it on their websites. Can you give me the links to the actual page it is on on both sites?

Re: Books on Electric or Diesel Locomotives of South Africa
I have Jean Dulez's e-mail address from correspondence in February this year.
If anyone wants it, let me know, and I can PM it to you.

I do not believe this!
It was on both sites - it has definetely been removed from the Aviation Shop pages (I had it book marked).
And I cannot now find it at all on Vidrail (which is after all his own site!).
I give up!
