FOTR gets a mention on p44 of the July 2007 Railway Magazine in UK, as part of an advert for Ffestiniog Travel's "See the World by Rail" programme. A "South African Gold" tour from 12-26 September 2007 reportedly includes, "Steam trains with Friends of the Rail, Capital Park, the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe, the Montague Pass, and the Apple Express on the Avontuur line".
