Donation from RSSA

On the occasion of FOTR's Valentine's train to Cullinan, we were visited by member Jean Dulez, who is also treasurer of the Reef branch of the Railway Society of Southern Africa. The RSSA has a surplus of funds and a decision was made to make a donation to the FOTR 15CA fund, for the express purpose of speeding up the overhaul of our 15CA No 2850. During a short ceremony held before departure time at Cullinan, Jean presented Secretary Chris Janisch with a cheque for R10000. This was witnessed and applauded by John Ashworth, Steve Smith, Steve Appleton, Robert Dadford, John Makopo and Manie Neethling.

Our 15CA fund is now becoming quite strong, having already benefitted from donations by Sandstone Trust and the Rodgers and Cooke tour groups. The major task of retubing the loco will hopefully begin this year and be completed as and when funds allow.
