G'day,
I am interested in discovering more about these intriguing railways, especially the FCAB.
The FCAB having adopted a number of ex QR and WAGR locomotives from Australia.
I am hoping that someone has visited this region of Chile and will be able to help.
The track grades, safe working systems, are of major interest to me.
Thanks,
Steve.

Re: Chilean metre gauge mining railways
Thanks John,
I recently viewed a very interesting DVD featuring these railways.
But, the operational aspects were not generally covered.
I do recollect Michael Palin travelling via the metre gauge through the Atacama desert in a tv show.
Steve.
