Axed Prasa CEO Matthews' Labour Court case withdrawn, referred to CCMA
The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) said that axed CEO Zolani Matthews' Labour Court case against the entity has been withdrawn and referred to the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA). In December, Prasa announced that Matthews' employment contract with the agency had been terminated after the State Security Agency (SSA) declined his security clearance application because of his UK citizenship, which he allegedly failed to disclose before assuming the position. Matthews proceeded to contest his dismissal at the Labour Court in Johannesburg, arguing that the speed with which his security clearance matter with the SSA was concluded "raised suspicions", adding that his application was declined declined he was already a member of the Prasa board...
