Local news here: at Capital Park diesel/electric depot, there is a hellova
shortage of motive power, and trains are being cancelled regularly. Motive
power has been taken off the local hauler workings to fill in on priority
petrol trains, while many an airbrake train has been left standing for want
of motive power. Loco shortages due to loco failures, crew shortages, spares
and locomotives being converted to road service!!

The rail bridge at Loftus Verseveld station is currently getting foundations
cast for the new bridge to take the Gautrain. There is a lot more work
happening now and the loop at Rissik station has been removed. At Pretoria
station, the old 1 yard shunt spur that came out the station to stop short
where the main road from the Fountains Circle feeds into Pretoria, has been
lifted and earthworks are in progress.
