Hercules progress

Post by John Ashworth »

We're currently doing repairs and cosmetic improvements to allow us to operate passenger trains from Hercules, hopefully in the second half of 2008. Our locos will remain based at Capital Park for the foreseeable future as it will take us much longer to raise funds to build an inspection pit, coaling facilities and all the other infrastructure needed for them

Today Nathan and I visited the site to see progress.

Good report, and ,yes, progress, albeit a bit slow, is happening. Soon the refrigerator kindly sourced and donated to us by Steve Smith, will be installed in the shop. The darker green paint oon the building will be good for the hiding of dirt in the future, as usually light colours at that level tend to show the dirt very quickly.

Amazing how a cleanup and a touch of paint make such a difference!

"What a difference a day made, 24 little hours, just have some paint laid, and it looks so neeeeew!"

Excellent progress. I got a call tonight about the bar fridge deal and the fridge will be in place at the new site by mid week.
