Chris Janisch says.....................

Today, Tom, Frik, Spikkels, John and Brian Dadford were seen down at the site.

Frik and Spikkels removed the injectors from 3117 and started replacing them with injectors stripped off 3094- known to be in good order. 3117's injectors had been deemed to be dysfunctional last weekend- however problems only arose in the afternoon when tender water levels were low.

Tom and John were busy on various pipes and fittings in the cab. Brian was on some or other testing mission.

Spikkels rang the tea gong at 3pm precisely. Time for refreshment on a hot Pretoria afternoon.

Chris J's daughter Georgia brought along her cockatiel "Spike"- seen here bearing a remarkable resemblance to Tom. Georgia is showing signs of being the future model face of FOTR- if only she could lose those coal-encrusted feet. Chris is seen with a bird in the hand and a buffer in the other- but was not seen to be fitting Spike into a bush...

The forever ongoing task of restoration. I think that we must be the only operational club, apart from Sandstone, that has only had wreck locos to restore to operational condition. By the way,Tom, nice to see you getting picked up by a bird!
