USR WELL SUPPORTED

On January 8, 2013 Railways Africa

The three Umgeni Steam Railway (USR) steam-hauled trips between Kloof and Inchanga on 30 December ran at capacity, demonstrating once again the popularity of these excursions. The third journey, a “Sundowner Special” at 16:30 was added after the 08:30 and 12:30 trains were fully booked. It was expected that the 6 January scheduled operations would be just as successful.

The 6 January trips did indeed run to capacity. In fact there was a waiting list of passengers for the afternoon run who turned up on the day hoping to get a seat. Most of these passengers were eventually accomodated due to a few pre-booked groups that didn't show on the day.
