Free steam train trip!

All being well, we plan to run a "test train" to our new site at Hercules in March. We will take some of our unrestored coaches full of non-valuable material and leave them in the platform at Hercules. We hope also to get our NZ back from Reefsteamers in February and load it with some of the fencing material and shed parts which are lying under the coal stage at Capital Park. We'll take it to Hercules, unload its contents onto the platform, and bring it back to CPK with us.

We would like to offer this train as a free trip for all FOTR members, and have decided also to offer it to registered members of the FOTR forum - at least those of you who live within striking distance of Pretoria. We'll try and organise a braai on the platform. Any help that members can give us to unload the NZ will be welcome, but come anyway just for the craic, as the Irish say.

There's no date yet, and obviously this is all subject to change, postponement or cancellation as circumstances change, but let us know if you're interested and we'll try to bring this off. We'll keep you updated on this forum.
