The show will take place in their new club house at their Germiston site. The details are as follows
Michael Whitehouse has kindly offered to give us a talk about "how they do things" over in the UK regarding the running of steam trains on the mainline. He will be presenting this to Transnet and he thought that it would be appropriate to also share it with us.
He is one of the key players in the Birmingham Railway Museum Trust and the Tyseley Locomotive Works who together with the operators Vintage Trains, operate mainline steam exursions all over the UK. They have built up a wealth of experience regarding mainline operations and his imput and presentation to Transnet may just give them a better understanding as to why we do what we do.
In addition to the Transnet presentation will be a slide show. Steam photography is another of Michael's passions and he would like to show us slides from his vast collection. The subject will probably be 1973 steam in Mocambique, Angola, Zim and some form SA.
