London Underground actually owns about 10 per cent of all green spaces in London - quoting TfL "wildlife observed on the Tube network include Woodpeckers, deer, sparrowhawk, bats, grass snakes, great crested newts and slow worms. "

A mosquito species unique to the Underground also breeds in the Tubes.
