This was class 15BR, number 1988, kicking up an absolute storm on the loco shunt at Paarden Eiland (near Cape Town) in October 1974. He was shuffling locos around like cards in a pack, with the fire nearly going through the smokebox on each exhaust beat. Greg Morris and I were just commenting on this the other night. What a display!!
From memory, he was shuffling in this scene a class 19C, an S2 and one of the 14C variations. This was the only 15BR we saw in S.A.R. service (saw numbers 1975 and 1990 at R.E.G.M.).
