- Maybe you can just about see that some of the brass and copper is beginning to shine a little - or maybe not! It will take a few more Saturday mornings to get it really bright. A lot of the brass and copper has been painted over.

- I think 3020 is the only loco I've ever worked on where all the windows open fully and can be cleaned properly from inside the cab rather than having to walk along the running board outside

- No footplateman can last long without a cuppa. When the fire is dead and the loco can't provide hot water for a brew, you have to bring your own in a thermos.
