Geoff Cooke 2010 Steam Tour Confirmed

Post by John Ashworth »

Our South African Steam tour has been confirmed.

All of the charter trains we have booked will run. This includes those on the
Natal - Cape Branch Line through Creighton which is closing and the already
closed Patensie Branch on the Avontuur Line. This may be the last chance to
travel over some of them.

The three day visit to Sandstone is also confirmed, one of the very few
opportunities to see this amazing railway.

Planning for runpasts is progressing well. This includes preparatory work ahead
of the tour, being undertaken by some of South Africa's best known steam
photographers who will travel with us to maximise photo opportunities.

Bookings close on 26 March. New bookings after that will depend on accommodation
and transport availability.

There has been interest in the tour from South Africans, particularly after the
Sandstone MegaPower event cancelled. Local residents can now book a special
package that includes all of the trains but excludes road transport and
accommodation. Details of this exceptional deal can be found at:

Space is limited, if you want to join us or have any questions, let me know
soon.

Best regards,

Geoff Cooke
