Premier Classe
This is my first post, although I have visited the FOTR website quite often since 2009. A very belated thanks to John Ashworth, who kindly provided me with some very useful information and a recommendation regarding the Premier Classe services, and addressed my (completely unfounded) concerns about it. I have travelled on the Premier Classe three times since John recommended it - PE/CPT with my wife and daughter (July 2009), JHB/DBN with my daughter (July 2009) and CPT/PE with my daughter (January 2010). Work pressures prevented any further trips until after the World Cup, by which time I found that, sadly, the CPT/PE/CPT and JHB/Hoedspruit/JHB services had been discontinued. Does anyone on the forum know if there is any intention to resume those services? I would like to do JHB/CPT, which I have read good reports of on the forum, but living in Durban makes it an expensive exercise, requiring two flights in addition to the costs of the train trip. I have considered a trip on the DBN/CPT Shosholoza Meyl, but I last undertook that journey in 1984 on the way to Navy basics, so I have no idea what it is like now. If anyone can advise me on that, I would be very grateful. Many thanks.

Re: Premier Classe
Tony, welcome to the forum, and I'm happy that we were able to provide you with good information. I'm out of touch with passenger travel in South Africa at the moment, but hopefully there will be others on the forum who can answer your questions.
