Hilton railway station action

Post by Steve Appleton »

From Grant Fryer on action to save the Hilton railway station and the stock located there.
Good Day

I wish to bring to your attention that the local residents of Hilton have voted a resounding yes in saving the Hilton Railway station and trains that are there. This communique is just to bring this to your attention and that a commitee of 8 has been formed to draft up a bussiness plan and follow due process to determine a way forward. We are aware of the value of the current stock which is deteriating at the station and need to act to save, so that we do not have a repeat of the SANRASM Chamdor situation.

The commitee will investigate ways to make it a financially sustainable and viable project

Finally the community feels that this is a vital piece of their History and Heritage and all efforts to preserve it as such need to undertaken

Regards
Grant Fryer
