Metrorail’s services severely disrupted
TRANSPORT:
Trains travelling to Park Station in Johannesburg were being rerouted to Mayfair Station because of vandalised electricity cables at Braamfontein, Metrorail said yesterday. Train services were severely disrupted yesterday morning as a result of 46 electricity cables under the Simmonds Street bridge being burned, spokesman Toney Games said. These cables were crucial to the electrification and safe running of trains in and around Johannesburg. "The fire may have been caused by informal dwellers living under the bridge," he said. Sapa
