Cullinan has not had a double header since a steam safari some years back. Rovos Rail class 19D 3360 and FOTR class 14 3664 Joanna at Cullinan. FOTR is extremely grateful to Rovos Rail for the use of their locomotive.

Viewed from the footplate of the class 24, the winding tower headgear for the diamond mine at Cullinan can be clearly seen in the background, as the double header lifts the load out Cullinan back to Pretoria.

Once the gateway to the Panpoort railway communities' houses, when that station was manned. Perhaps small children would stand here and watch the passing steam parade.

Henry Lazenby also recorded some video footage, where I was trainee driver on the lead locomotive, FotR's Class 24 - No 3664. To see video click these links, here

1st sequence - leaving Cullinan, on the southern side of the level crossing to the start of the "Cullinan cutting".

and here;

2nd sequence - leaving the "Cullinan cutting" and heading towards the old abattoir site.

and finally here;

Last sequence - negotiating the hourseshoe curve through Rayton, towards Rayton station.

Thanks goes to Henry for the video footage . . . . :)
